Electricity theft

A 42-year-old man has been charged with the theft of electricity and a report is to be submitted to the procurator fiscal. This follows a police visit to the man’s flat at Longrow, Campbeltown, on Thursday last week when they found that the electricity meter had been allegedly tampered with.

Car damaged

A white Ford Focus car parked in Burnside Square, Campbeltown, between Monday January 6 and Saturday 11 was damaged by having a passenger door struck by another vehicle, which failed to stop and report the collision. Police are investigating the incident and are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact them

Motoring offences

On Tuesday night last week a motorist was stopped by police on the A83 near Killegruer, for an alleged speeding offence. The driver, a man aged 58, was charged and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

In a separate incident on Thursday last week a 20-year-old motorist was stopped while driving on the B843 near Campbeltown after police inquires showed that he allegedly did not have any insurance in force. A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
