In the Courier’s excitement to share with the world Campbeltown’s very own Christmas carol for today, we accidentally omitted the final two lines!

Here is the full carol, created at a recent Campbeltown Christian Writers’ Circle workshop, which is to be sung to the tune of Oh Little Town of Bethlehem.

O guid Wee Toon around the Loch,
How quiet you are tonight.
And high above Beinn Ghuilean Hill,
Yon sky’s ablaze wi’ light.

For shops are shut, and all is still,
As townsfolk sleep this night.
While o’er the streets of Campbeltown,
A star shines clear and bright.

For up the stairs, within a flat,
Lies in His mother’s arms,
The Light of Life, who ever comes,
To every waiting heart.

So let us celebrate with joy,
In this Wee Toon of ours,
The Child whose birth brings Peace and Hope.
God’s love to all the world.
