Festive spirit emanated from the Monday Social Club’s Christmas party.

Shortly after the Courier popped into the event, which ran from 2-4pm on Monday, at the Tin Roof Diner, Sound of Kintyre, Santa made a special appearance, as a rendition of Jingle Bells was performed, bringing gifts for all.

Before that, many of the group had enjoyed a dance or two, with accordionist Alec MacKinnon providing the soundtrack.

Earlier, the club enjoyed a ‘delicious’ lunch of soup, a cocktail and some sandwiches, followed by a  choice of dessert, and tea, coffee and cakes.

Cathie Duncan who organised the event thanked the Gilbert family at the Tin Roof Diner, Alec for attending every year with his accordion and Archie Mathieson, who transported members to and from the party.

A fantastic afternoon was had by all!
