The December Medal competition at Dunaverty Golf Club proved to be a real test of skills due to gale force winds which steadily increased throughout the round.

Understandably, the scores were not great and the competition developed into a two-horse race between Keith Crawford and Alistair McConnachie.

They had their share of bogies on the outward nine but both managed to reach the turn in 36 strokes, which was no mean feat in the conditions.

The inward half was a struggle with Keith covering the first six holes in 29 and Alistair in 28.

Keith forged to the front over the last three holes with a tally of 12 to Alistair’s 15.

Keith had the best scratch score with a 77. CSS for the day was 66.

Result: 1 Keith Crawford 77-5=72; 2 Alistair McConnachie 79-6=73; 3 Ari Techner 83-8=75(bih); 4 Graeme McLennan  97-22=75; 5 Sandy Watson 88-12=76, 6 John Nutt 89-10=79.
