Members of Clachan SWI took to the road last Saturday in the beautiful autumn sunshine and went to Torrisdale Castle to visit Beinn an Tuirc gin distillery.
Neil and Emma Macalister Hall gave them a very warm welcome in their attractive shop where members were told about the history of the estate which has led up to their decision to go into gin production.
They then went to the refurbished outbuilding where the gin is distilled and bottled, and were invited to taste three of the gins made there.
The bottling and labelling methods were explained and members were surprised to hear of the very wide distribution of the gin throughout Scotland and England.
Neil and Emma will be opening a shop in Longrow, Campbeltown, very shortly where everyone will be able to top up their gin supplies for Christmas!
After all that hard work tasting, the SWI members travelled on to Carradale with much joy in their hearts and had a very enjoyable and sociable meal at the Glen before their return to Clachan.
