Dunaverty Golf Club’s October medal competition was held on a sunny day with a very fresh breeze and it turned out to be a very close contest.
Steven Garrett and John Marrison had a ding-dong battle in the morning session with Steven edging John out by one shot for the lead.
It was the afternoon session which produced the winner in the form of John Docherty who went out in 33 strokes and back in 40 to card a nett 63 to take the number one spot.
Result: 1 John Docherty, 73-10=63; 2 Steven Garrett, 76-12=64; 3 John Marrison, 81-16=65; 4 Bill Brannigan, 78-12=66; 5 John McKinlay, 79-10=69; 6 Ross Sinclair, 74-4=70. John Docherty had the best scratch score of 73 and the CSS was 64.
