Work has started on the new Machrihanish Golf Clubhouse, as our picture shows.

The turf has been cut and groundworks are now underway after Campbeltown company McKinven and Colville Ltd were named as the main contractor last month, keeping most of the money for the project in Kintyre.

The Civil works, which are being undertaken by another local firm McFadyen Contractors Ltd, have started less than a year since the previous clubhouse was destroyed by a devastating fire last December.

The new clubhouse has been designed by Glasgow-based G1 Architects. It is hoped the work will be completed by August next year. NO_B42golf01
