A golf course in fabulous condition and a beautiful warm sunny, if a bit windy, day created the near perfect arena for the Dunaverty Golf Club Ladies’ autumn meeting.

Thirteen ladies competed for the prize of a voucher and a celebratory bottle, all donated by the lady captain, Lindsay Garrett.

The strong wind prevailed for both the morning and afternoon players with some coping better than others. Leader after the morning session was Katharine Hardman with four par scores on her card to score 70 nett.

The in-form Mary Wilson played a very steady round being the only player carding a score in the 60s and taking the lead from Katharine with a nett 68.

Result: 1 Mary Wilson, 6-28 = 68; 2 Katharine Hardman, nett 70; 3 Joan McInnes, 71 nett. Lowest scratch score was 82 by Ailie MacBrayne.
