The weather once again played havoc with the scores in Dunaverty Golf Club’s September Medal.

Strong winds, for most of the players, deflected several balls into the severe rough and out of bounds and pushed scores upwards.

Robert Shaw, one of the first out in the morning ballot, had an excellent round to finish on a nett 63 from Ken MacMillan on nett 69.

The wind continued in the afternoon but didn’t deter John Docherty from the best scratch score of the day. He recorded 72 to give him a nett 61 and pushed Robert into second place.

Result: 1 John Docherty,72-11=61; 2 Robert Shaw, 79-16=63; 3 Ken MacMillan 86-17=69; 4 Ross Sinclair 78-4=74(bih); 5 Alex Arkle 88-14=74; 6 Alex Roxburgh 93-18=75(bih).
