Tarbert Golf Club’s captain Chris Smyth led his troops overseas to Islay last Saturday for the playing of the Dougie MacKinnon Memorial Cup.
They were treated to superb hospitality by the members of Islay Golf Club and the staff of the Machrie Hotel. Unfortunately, the result did not go well with Tarbert losing 4-1, the only success coming from the pairing of Iain MacArthur and Duncan Johnstone.
The team thoroughly enjoyed the day out and the members were delighted to play such a superb course.
The ladies gathered at the club on Sunday for the September medal with Sheena Ferguson keeping up her good form with a net 74, with Jo Kerr and Helen Samborek next on 76.
Tomorrow (Saturday) members and guests will take part in the Archie Miller memorial in conjunction with the club’s Cancer Relief day. This event is open to both ladies and gents with the club hoping that Inveraray Golf Club members will be able to join them.
Players are asked to meet at the clubhouse at noon when pairing will take place and play will commence from 12.30pm.
