Drumchapel United 5
Campbeltown Pupils 2005s 2
GADYFL League Cup

Campbeltown Pupils Youth under 15s (2005s) travelled to play Drumchapel United last Sunday in their final GADYFL League Cup tie.

With both teams qualifying for the next round by winning their first two cup ties it was an opportunity for both to field all players and try different positions and formations.

Despite taking the lead after 25 minutes through Calum Ellis, the young Campbeltown side found itself going in 4-1 down at half-time, after a 10-minute spell where the hosts scored freely.

Drumchapel continued to dominate in the second-half but the Pupils dug in and defended well. With a few minutes left and the scoreline at 5-1, the Pupils 2005s scored their second with Stuart Phillips latching on to a save from Ellis’s free kick to knock the ball home and make the final score 5-2.

This was a very respectable result against a very good Drumchapel United side which finished third in last season’s A league.
