A feeling of love blossomed at Gigha and Cara Parish Church’s flower festival, where the theme was ‘Love is…’.

Floral artists interpreted that in many different ways, some paying tribute to the people and places they adore, such as families, pets, homes and Gigha itself. Others honoured their favourite items and hobbies, from teddy bears and flowers to music and walks.

Some took a less literal approach, with one display titled ‘Love is all around’ and another paying tribute to the Robert Burns song ‘My Love is Like a Red, Red Rose’.

Many of the colourful creations, which were on display in the church last Thursday and Friday, used inventive props and were enjoyed by all the visitors who could also purchase tea, coffee and homebaking.

The fundraiser made just over £600.
