Anyone who loves messing about in the water is in for a real treat this weekend when the second Campbeltown Community Regatta comes to town.
Dalintober Beach group, Campbeltown Sailing Club and Aqualibrium have pulled together once again to organise a day of activities to suit all ages and abilities.
Free of charge and open to everyone in the community, Campbeltown Community Regatta includes beach activities, games, and a variety of watersports.
There will be kayaking and canoeing for age five and above, other watersports for ages eight and over, as well as sub aqua activities in Aqualibrian for anybody over the age of 14.
Jamie MacLean, chair of Dalintober Beach group said: ‘Last year’s event was a great success and enjoyed by local people and visitors alike.
‘Volunteers from the beach group and the sailing club have continued to work hard towards making the venue a fantastic community place for all to enjoy.
‘Campbeltown Loch is now a safe place to try kayaking, canoeing, stand-up paddle boarding and sailing, while the sub aqua club will provide introductory sessions at the swimming pool at Aqualibrium.
‘There will also be fun activities taking place on the beach and also a burger stall so hopefully the weather will be kind and everyone has a fantastic day.’
The fun starts at 11am and lasts until 4pm. Wetsuits and buoyancy aids will be available on the day.
