Dancers from the McCorkindale School in Campbeltown have just had the experience of a lifetime taking part in the United States Highland Dancing Championships in Las Vegas.

All 13 dancers who made the trip were placed in the individual Highland competitions taking home an impressive 16 golf medals and four overall section trophies.

The school also placed second in the group choreography event with the entry titled Life in the Scottish coal mine. The cash prize of $750 has been donated back into school funds.
