At about 12.30am on Sunday May 26, an 18-year-old man assaulted another man in the village hall on the Isle of Gigha. The man was subsequently traced and charged on Wednesday last week and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
Between midnight on Tuesday May 21 and noon on Friday May 24, the lock and door to a flat on Davaar Avenue, Campbeltown, were damaged.
Mountain bike theft
Between 7.30pm and 8.30pm an Monday May 27, a man’s yellow mountain bike was stolen from the courtyard at 11 Kirk Street, Campbeltown.
Mobile phones taken
At about 11.30am on Tuesday May 28, at the County Garage, Millknowe, Campbeltown, a 50-year-old man stole two mobile phones that had been mistakenly left on a fuel pump.
Later that day, the man was traced by police and the phones recovered. He was charged and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
On Sunday evening in a flat on Main Street, Campbeltown, a man aged 38 assaulted another man and a woman. Police attended and the man was arrested, charged, held for court and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
Police stopped a van as the driver, a man aged 19, was allegedly driving while using a mobile phone on Main Street, Bowmore, Islay.
The officers then saw that the van also had a worn tyre with cord exposed.
The man was charged and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
Early on Saturday morning, on Shore Street, Bowmore, Islay, a car was stopped and the man who was driving was arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol.
The 68-year-old was charged with the offence and a report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.
At about 7.05pm on Friday on the A83 at Minard, a car was stopped and searched by police and an 18-year-old man was found to be in possession of cannabis. The man was charged and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
On Friday evening, on the A83 at Minard, police stopped a car as the driver, a man aged 64, had allegedly failed to obey red traffic lights. The man was charged and a £100 fixed penalty ticket with three penalty points were issued.
