Ten women took to the nine-hole Pans course for the first round of the 2019 Ladies’ Championship and it was multiple winner Anne Gallacher who takes a slender lead into round two after shooting a fine 81 over the tight course.
She holds a one-shot lead over Catherine Dobbie (82) with Linda Wallace and Lindsay Irwin right in the mix each having excellent gross 84s. Pia Davis is two shots further back after a solid 86.
In the handicap silver and bronze sections, it is even tighter. In the silver section, Catherine Dobbie, Linda Wallace and Lindsay Irwin share the lead on 69 with Anne Gallacher just two shots back on 71.
Elizabeth MacBrayne leads the bronze section with a fabulous net 70 followed closely by Jennifer Gilchrist and Janeann Reppke on 72 and 74 respectively.
With two rounds left to play, the ladies’ silverware hangs very much in the balance.
