Pipers blew their best notes at one of Scotland’s premier junior competitions held in Kintyre.

Last weekend at the Ardshiel and Seafield Hotels Kintyre Piping Society (KPS) held its annual junior piping competition.

A total of 40 competitors took part performing in front of Judges Iain Hurst and Euan Dewar from Oban and Julie Blue and Hamish Colville from Campbeltown.

A KPS spokesperson said: ‘The Society would like to thank Flora Grant and Marion MacKinnon for the use of the hotel facilities and their staff for taking care of everyone during the day.

‘A special thanks also to Flora for presenting the prizes to the trophy winners.

‘Thanks also to everyone who donated prizes for the raffle, tuned pipes and helped on the day.

‘To all our local sponsors including Pipedreams, McCallum Bagpipes and the Gordon Duncan Memorial Trust which donated prizes for the competitions.

‘We would also like to thank Donald and Chrissie MacKinnon (Edinburgh) for their generous donation to our funds.
