Running is just one of the things renewables developer SSE will do to support next month’s Kintyre Way Ultra.

The firm which owns Kintyre’s Tangy wind farm will be powering the very people taking part in the event on Saturday May 11, by contributing towards the sponsorship.

Seventeen members of the Tangy wind farm team will either volunteer to help participants find their way or will take on the gruelling endurance challenge, running the 32-mile track on the northern part of the Kintyre Way, beginning at Tayinloan and finishing at Tarbert.

Project manager Andy Gregory said: ‘This community has been so supportive of us over the years and we are so pleased to have a chance to give back to them by helping with an event so close to its heart.’

‘It’s fitting SSE is providing the catering, as Tangy wind farm has provided energy for 15 years and we will boost the competitors energy.
