I was delighted to be informed that the Isle of Gigha Heritage Trust has appointed a young man, Brandon Clements, to the trust with other new directors.

At a time when most community councils and trusts are trying to draw young people to their numbers it is refreshing that Brandon has stepped forward to help with the challenges and rewards of living on an island.

I am sure Brandon will bring fresh innovative ideas and help to address the depopulation issues that affect our remote and rural communities.

I would like to offer the Isle of Gigha Heritage Trust my best wishes as they move forward with their new plans.
