There was no big fanfare when volunteers launched trading at Carradale’s temporary shop.

As soon as the doors opened, at 10am last Friday, customers crowded into the PortaKabin.

Customers seemed pleased with Carradale Community Trust’s venture, in the village hall car park, and one said the great benefit is not having to make the 30-mile round trip to Campbeltown.

The shop is open six days a week, Monday to Saturday from 10am to 2pm.

Volunteers from the CCT committee outside the shop from left: Margaret Richardson, Nudita Smithson and Lesley Prag. Jenn Lee was unable to attend.

The temporary shop’s first customer, Margaret Semple, takes her change from volunteer Karen Murphy.
