A woman who as a schoolgirl ‘fell off three times in one competition’ won Kintyre Wheelers Cycling Club’s (KWCC) winter league.
Despite a puncture in the final event, Emma Smith, rode to victory with 64 points three more than KWCC secretary Robbie Semple on 61 and seven ahead of 3rd placed Lynsay McGeachy on 57.
The two wheeled warriors return to burn rubber this weekend at Machrihanish Airbase as the summer cycling season opens.
Semple, pronounced that the early forecast is good and if so bike checks and maintenance will be followed by a ride.
If the weather turns out wet and windy there will be indoor bike maintenance and riding tips .
KWCC members and any others interested should follow signs at 10am from the main gate to the building with the tall rectangular tower near the South Gate.
KWCC’s End of the World event on the weekend of May 4 to 5 is selling well and entries can be made via the British Cycling events web page.
