MCCUAIG – Suddenly but peacefully, on February 19, 2019, at the Royal Infirmary Glasgow, Kirsty McCuaig, aged 49 years, of 11 Argyll Court, Lochgilphead, beloved youngest daughter of Alex and the late Mary McCuaig, dearly loved sister of Donald and the late Margaret, sister-in-law of Ailsa and Ronald and a proud auntie and great auntie. Dear niece and cousin to all the family, and a good neighbour and dear friend to many. Kirsty will be sadly missed by all who knew her in the extended local community. Funeral service will be held in Lochgilphead Parish Church on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at 11.00am, thereafter to Achnabreac Cemetery. Flowers welcome. Donations to Lochgilphead Parish Church. SARGENT – Suddenly but peacefully, at the Lorn and Islands District General Hospital, Oban, on February 17, 2019, Roger Sargent, in his 77th year, 6 Lady Mary Row, Campbeltown, dearly beloved husband of the late Senga McLellan, much loved dad of Senga and Roger, loving papa of Sean, Darren, Daniel, Ainsley, Brooke, Ryan and Greg and great papa of Katelyn, Lillyannah, Kaylen, Kami-Lee and Miller. Funeral service in the Lorne and Lowland Parish Church, today, Friday, February 22, 2019, at 1.00pm, thereafter to Kilkerran Cemetery. Friends please accept this intimation and invitation. Family flowers only please. A retiral collection will be held in aid of Ward B HDU Lorn and Islands Hospital, Oban.
BOYD – Alison and Laura would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to friends and relatives for all the support and kind expressions of sympathy received following the sad loss of Alistair. We would like to thank the Rev William Crossan for his support and comforting, personal service, Rhys and Kenny Blair, funeral directors, for their compassion and professionalism during this sad time, the Ardshiel Hotel for their excellent catering, Maggie Wilkieson and the Macmillan Day Care Unit in Oban for their kindness and gentleness towards Alistair, and finally, the nursing staff at the Sunshine Room, along with Campbeltown Medical Practice, in particular doctors Villalba and Toledo. The retrial collection raised over £1,550 for Kintyre Cancer and Palliative Care.
MACAULAY – The Macaulay family would like to thank everyone for their cards, flowers, kindness and sympathy following the death of Alec, slowly taken from us following a series of illnesses. Thanks to Rev Hilda Smith for a personal and uplifting service; to Roddy, Fiona and staff for professional, personal and caring services; to the Stag Hotel for providing fine purvey, and to Morna for beautiful floral arrangements. Grateful thanks to all who attended at church and graveside, especially those who travelled a distance, including Terry, his neighbour from Slough, and all good and loyal friends. Thanks also to the cemetery staff, Graham and Barrie. A grateful thanks from all the family to Collette and all the professional care teams who cared for Alec. The retiral collection for Macmillan Nurses Mid Argyll raised £250. Alec was a highly skilled and proud artisan in stonemasonry. Rest in peace.
MCGIMPSEY – The family of the late Jimmy McGimpsey would like to thank everyone most sincerely for the many kind expressions of sympathy and support received in their recent sad loss. Special thanks to all involved in Jimmy’s care, to Rev Robert MacLeod for his support and comforting services at Cardross Crematorium and Tarbert Parish Church, Stan Lupton Funeral Directors for professional handling of all arrangements, Islay Frigate Hotel for excellent catering and to all who paid their last respects at crematorium and church. Donations to Cancer Care UK and Alzheimer’s Society raised £220.
