A team of 10-year-olds from Campbeltown raced onto the leader board at a national athletics contest.

Hannah Millar, Emma Millar, Niamh Quinn and Cara McFadzean battled against more than 500 other youngsters at the FPSG SUPER teams event for under 12-year-olds last Sunday.

Teams of four competed in long jump, shot putt, 60m sprint and 4 x 200m relay events at the Scottish Athletics competition at the Emirates Arena, Glasgow.

The Campbeltown team placed 34th out of 64 girls’ teams.
