Not a sport often practiced in Campbeltown, ice skating has become popular with youngsters in the last couple of weeks.
Puddles and ponds froze over as temperatures plummeted below zero and Campbeltown’s young men and women have been testing their skills on the ice.
The usually flooded patch on the hospital field, which has made children late for school most years as they cannot resist a skate when it turns to ice, attracted three young lads on Saturday afternoon.
Although they may not win ITV’s Dancing on Ice any time soon, they had no trouble gliding from one side of the ice to the other.
