I have always been proud to be a Campbeltonian, but never more so than in the difficult weeks following the disastrous fire at Machrihanish Golf Club.

In our family, we have experienced what Robert Burns described as: ‘The naked truth, the real guid and ill.’

The naked truth is that no lives were lost.  We are still part of a loving and very supportive family.

Each one of us has many good and helpful friends, and we are part of this wonderful community in Campbeltown and Kintyre and also throughout the country and the wider world.

Thank you, all of you, for you are holding us up.
