Dunaverty Golf Club members had to battle gale force winds, but thankfully no rain, for the first nine holes in their December medal.

David MacBrayne was in fine form and coped well in the conditions, carding an excellent 33 for the first nine but made slow progress against the wind on the inward half, coming back in 40.

His nearest challenger, vice-captain John Brown, despite having played very little this year, managed to get within two strokes of David and held off third placed Campbell McCallum by one stroke.

Campbell McCallum had the best scratch score with 69 and the CSS was 64.

Results: 1 David MacBrayne 73-12=61, 2 John Brown 75-12=63, 3 Campbell McCallum 69-5=64, 4 Bill Brannigan 79-13=66(bih), 5 Danny Halliday 83-17=66, 6 John McKinlay 78-9=68.
