A total of £113,000 will be given to 12 events and festivals in Argyll and Bute to help boost tourism.

Argyll and Bute Council’s policy and resources committee chose events that demonstrated the best return on public investment, promotional value to Argyll and Bute, and a good range of effects for the local economy.

Another vital component in the judging process was ensuring the event added to the area’s visitors and tourism.

Oban Live will receive £15,000, the Highland and Island Music and Dance Festival will receive £5,000, while the Argllshire Gathering and West Highland Yachting Week each will be given £3,600. Cowal Highland Gathering will receive the most money at £49,107.60.
