It must be hard to beat the golden sands of the Middle East, but a woman who moved from Bahrain to Kintyre feels lucky to have Westport beach on her doorstep.
Joanna Gray moved to Clachan in June with her husband Karl and three sons, Raphael, 13, Lewis, six and four-year-old Lachie.
Joanna, who studied professional photography while living in Bahrain, took this photograph using a Canon 24-70mm lens, with a shutter speed of 1/80th second, aperture of f16 and an ISO of 100.
She said: ‘I took my boys to Westport half an hour before sunset in the hope of capturing some nice pictures – it was such a lovely day and our first visit to the beach.
‘We have found Clachan really welcoming and can’t believe how lucky we are to have Westport beach, among others, just down the road.’
