A bargain store with the slogan: ‘where every penny counts…’ looks set to open in Campbeltown.

Late on Wednesday, after the paper edition of the Courier went to press, £poundstretcher advertised for a keyholder, manager and deputy manager on job website Total Jobs.

The Leicester and Huddersfield based chain with 434 stores nationwide first opened its doors in 1981.

Today a £poundstretcher employee said that it looked like Campbeltown would open in the new year.

The news comes after the Courier reported, last week, that The Original Factory Shop’s (TOFS) landlords have served notice on the retailer which has served the Wee Toon for a decade.

The precise location for a £poundstretcher store is not confirmed.
