As autumn turns into winter and gales batter the country, the last leaves are falling from the trees.
Marilyn Shedden sent us this photograph, titled ‘A Quiet Place’, showing a red carpet of fallen leaves surrounding a bench.
She took the photograph at Balloch Country Park, on the shores of Loch Lomond, on November 1 with her Samsung Galaxy mobile phone.
Marilyn said: ‘We came upon this lovely little corner in the park.
‘I just loved the carpet of colours, the stillness and the peace that was there, and the empty bench seemed to offer an invitation to just stop and be still for a few moments.’
