Last Saturday Isabel McConachie and Florence Allan enjoyed a blether as they supported the Scottish Bible Society’s Kintyre Action Group fundraiser at Lorne and Lowland church’s old hall.

Ms McConachie and Ms Allan, who are both partially sighted, said they gain a thorough briefing in Campbeltown news on Mondays, when an audio version of the Courier is delivered on a pen stick.

Ms McConachie joked that she knows much more about farming than she ever did when reading the paper.

‘Every bit of the paper is read out, including all the bits I never read in the past,’ said Ms McConachie.
