Poor weather prevented proper preparation of the Argyll Bowling Club green leading up to its final outdoor game.

The match was cancelled and the Mixed Handicap final, Ladies Championship final and Junior competition held over.

A club spokesperson said: ‘However members enjoyed an evening buffet and prize giving followed by dancing to Hunky Dory.’

Competition winners for the outdoor season were: Most promising player gents: R Blair; lady: Wm. Coffield; two bowl triples: A Kerr, T Christie, and J McLachlan (S); club triples: J Oxborrow, P Grumoli Jnr. and G A McLachlan (S); mixed pairs: Mrs J McLachlan, G A McLachlan (S); club pairs: N Ruesgen, M McPhee (S); three bowl pairs: M MacDougall, G A McLachlan (S); four Bowl, three sets: M Maguire; Junior Championship: G A McLachlan; Past President’s Championship: M McPhee; Vice President’s Cup: G A McLachlan; President’s Shield: L Allen; Senior Championship: M McPhee; Gent’s Championship: L Allen.
