Fair weather ensured a great Invitational Fours competition at Argyll Bowling Club.

The match, sponsored by Glen Scotia Distillery, was well supported by a good number of entries.

The semi-finalists J D McCallum, R Mathieson, J McLachlan and G McLachlan Snr. lost out to R Todd, G Graham, C Kerr and G A McLachlan; and S Camley, M Camley, G Ireland a B McCarther to R Dalziel Snr, J McCormick, A Johnstone and R Dalziel Jnr.

The winners by seven shots to four were R Dalziel Snr, J McCormick, A Johnstone and R Dalziel Jnr (Skip).

An Argyll Bowling Club spokesperson said: ‘Grateful thanks are due to Glen Scotia Distillery and Iain McAlister for presenting the prizes.

‘Thanks also to Isobel Dalziel and helpers for the kitchen, to all the players and their supporters for making it a great day.’
