Pipers welcome American golfers to Kintyre

Kintyre Schools Novice Pipe Band and Beinn an Tuirc Kintyre 3A Pipe Band welcomed around 40 American golfers to Kintyre.

The bands performed a mixture of sets and tunes at the Ugadale Hotel in Machrihanish last Sunday evening to entertain the visitors.

The group is here for a golf competition which involves playing the courses at Machrihanish, Dunaverty and then at Machrihanish Dunes, which is owned by Southworth Development, which also has the Ugadale Hotel, for the final round.

A spokesperson said: ‘The band members enjoyed playing for the visitors and were delighted with the appreciation shown from the American audience. They hope the visitors enjoy the rest of their visit and have successful tournament.’
