An emerging Scottish fiddle player and nominee for BBC Radio 2’s 2018 folk awards plays Ceol Campbeltown on Saturday night.

Ryan Young, who will be accompanied by guitarist Jenn Butterworth, is a Danny Kyle award-winner and was a finalist in BBC Radio Scotland’s Young Traditional Musician competition in 2015 and 2016.

Young has been hailed as one of a new wave of players bringing fresh and inventive ideas to traditional Scottish music.
