Aces from schools across Kintyre played a mixture of tennis at Campbeltown Lawn Tennis Club.

From Monday to Wednesday last week 169 pupils served, volleyed, lobbed and smashed their way through classes and competitions organised by CLTC’s Catherine Dobbie with Active Schools co-ordinators, Lindsay Ramsay and Sharon Gillies-McCallum.

On Monday Susan Shaw beat Lauren MacKinnon to lift the Grammar school girls’ trophy, in a classic junior boys final Euan Dott beat Kyle Paterson and in the senior boys Alasdair Fergus triumphed over Fraser MacBrayne.

On Tuesday it was the turn of Dalintober and Castlehill and on Wednesday P4 to P7 from all the rural primaries.

Finally on Thursday night Catherine Dobbie organised a fun mixed doubles adult competition which saw eight pairs battle for honours.

At the end of the week the courts were brushed and Ms Dobbie said they look like new.

This Sunday CLTC will hold a celebration event at 2pm when the new clubhouse will be officially opened.

CLTC would like to invite all members, past and present, to the celebration or anyone interested in joining.
