Campbeltown Bowling Club’s Catherine Bannatyne memorial triples, sponsored by the Bannatyne family, was played in the most unpleasant weather conditions of the season so far.
The recent round robin sections boiled down to a final between previous winners Jimmy Anderson, Dugald Graham and John Johnston, and Neil Maguire, Hugh MacDonald and George Allan who produced a classic match with what sounded like the Monaco Grand Prix in progress behind them.
The final end saw Neil’s trio with a three-shot lead and lying what seemed to be an unbeatable toucher to ensure the win.
This was the case until Jimmy ‘the magician’ pulled an amazing rabbit out of the hat to remove the shot to give his team a winning count of four.
The prizes were presented by president Ducan MacInnes and Shirley Bannatyne.
