BIRTHS
MCNEE – GILLIES – Ross and Jayne are so happy to announce the birth of their beautiful baby boy, Teddy Alexander McNee, born on April 19, 2018 at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Paisley, weighing 8lbs 1oz.  First grandchild to Alex Gillies and Madge Timmins and fourth grandchild to Andy and Karen McNee.

 

MARRIAGES
MACDONALD – LINDSAY – Both families are delighted to announce the marriage of Julie, younger daughter of Jan and the late Jimmy MacDonald, Campbeltown, to Gareth, only son of Beth and the late Frank Lindsay, Ballymoney, at Lorne and Lowland Church, Campbeltown, on May 5, 2018.

DEATHS
MACFARLANE SHILLITO – Peacefully, after a long illness, borne bravely and with great dignity, Janetha Shillito, née MacFarlane, aged 47 years, of Kenilworth Road, Balby, Doncaster, much loved daughter of Edith and the late Donald MacFarlane, loving mother of Benjamin, Jack and Janetha, a much respected and adored sister and cherished aunt, cousin and niece.  Funeral service was held in Tarbert Parish Church, on Friday, May 18, followed by interment at Carrick Cemetery, Tarbert.

MACLACHLAN – On May 6, 2018, peacefully at her home, Chalmers Court, Inveraray, Morag Helen MacLachlan, former teacher of music for many years, in the Cowal schools and later in Midlothian, in her 98th year, beloved daughter of the late William and Jean MacLachlan, dear sister of William and Hamish. Funeral service at Inveraray Parish Church, on Monday, May 28 at 11.00am, interment thereafter at Kilmun Cemetery, Holy Loch, to which all friends are respectfully invited. No flowers, but donations if desired to Inveraray Parish Church.

MCCUAIG – Peacefully, after a short illness, at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, on May 10, 2018, Mary McCuaig, née MacCorquodale, aged 84 years, of 22 Ardpatrick Place, Lochgilphead, beloved wife of Alex McCuaig, loving mother of Donald, Kirsty and the late Margaret and a much loved granny and great granny.  A dear sister, sister-in-law and aunt to all the family, and a good neighbour and dear friend to many.  Funeral service was held in Lochgilphead Parish Church, on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, followed by interment at Achnabreac Cemetery.  Sadly missed.

PURDIE – Peacefully, at the Mid Argyll Hospital, on May 22, 2018, after a long illness, borne bravely and with great dignity, Margaret Logan Purdie, née Ferguson, in her 77th year, of 49 MacDonald Terrace, Lochgilphead, beloved wife of James C Purdie, dearly loved sister of Seamus and Catherine and devoted auntie to Eilidh and Craig.  A popular former work colleague and dear friend to many. Funeral service will be held in Lochgilphead Parish Church, at a date to be announced.  Flowers, or donations to Lochgilphead Parish Church and Glenaray Ward Comfort Fund, Mid Argyll Hospital.  Enquiries to Donald MacDonald Funeral Directors, 01546 602226.

MEMORIAL SERVICES
RYAN – Nick, Crinan Hotel. A memorial service will be held at Bellanoch Church, on Friday, October 5, 2018 at 2.30pm, and afterwards at the Crinan Hotel.  All friends welcome.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
ANDERSON – Charles, Donald and all the family of the late Flora Anderson would like to thank everyone for their kind expressions of sympathy, cards, flowers, visits and phone calls following their sad loss. Sincere thanks to all staff at Auchinlee and Lorne Campbell Court for their kindness and exceptional care of Flora over the last three years, which was greatly appreciated.  Also our grateful thanks to Dr Anderson and the district nurses.  A special thanks to Rev William Crossan for a personal and comforting service, to David McEwan for lovely organ music, Kenneth and Rhys of T  A Blair Funeral Directors for their dignified, professional services, and to the Ardshiel Hotel for catering.  Finally, our sincere thanks to all who attended church and graveside and contributed to the retiral collection, which raised £900 for MS Society Kintyre Locality and the district nurses.

MCSPORRAN – George and the family of the late Margaret McSporran would like to thank everyone for their kind expressions of sympathy and support following their recent sad loss.  Thanks to the Rev William Crossan for a deeply moving and uplifting service.  Thanks also to Dr Grose of the Beatson, local doctors and nurses at Campbeltown and Oban and local ambulance crews; to Kenneth of T A Blair Funeral Directors for  personal and professional services; to the Argyll Hotel for their catering.  The collection raised £1,101.37 for the Highland Parish Church and Kintyre Cancer and Palliative Care.
