A Glasgow based lay preacher, Stan Paliwoda, who visits Campbeltown on June 3 and 17 will be hoping not to emulate his great-grandfather Duncan McCorkindale.
Mr Paliwoda, an emeritus professor of marketing at Glasgow Caledonian University, said: ‘Mr McCorkindale a farmer on East Backs Farm was killed on the farm along with his dog when he was struck by lightning, way back in December 1921.
‘I believe this incident was reported in the Courier at the time.’
