In a nod to Scotland’s T in the Park music festival, Islay residents are swapping Tennants for tea to raise funds for Portnahaven Parish Church.
Last year the fundraisers raised more than £6,900 through their T in the Church events and are working hard to beat that record this year.
To help the cause, one Kintyre and the Islands councillors donated a quantity of Tunnock’s Teacakes at the latest meeting.
Councillor Alastair Redman said: ‘It was great to catch up with my constituents from Portnahaven, Port Wemyss and across the Rinns of Islay at T in the Church.
‘The hard-working team of volunteers has been raising thousands of pounds for improvements, repairs and maintenance of the Portnahaven Parish Church.
‘My donation of Tunnock’s Teacakes was very well received indeed.’
Cllr Redman thanked the T in the Church volunteers for all of their hard work.
