Calum and Sarah are delighted to announce the arrival of their daughter, Evie Grace, on Tuesday, April 24, 2018. First granddaughter for Robert and Josie Shaw, and Christine and Angus Gilmour.

DEATHS
MCMILLAN – On April 27, 2018, suddenly at home, Archie McMillan, in his 72nd year, beloved son of the late Archie and Annie McMillan, much loved father of Fergus, dearly loved brother of Flora and Anne Marie, and a dear uncle of Catriona and great uncle of Cleo. Funeral service at Tarbert Parish Church, on Wednesday, May 9 at 12.00 noon, interment thereafter at Tarbert Cemetery, to which all friends are respectfully invited. Family flowers only please, donations if desired to the Fishermen’s Mission.
ROSS – Peacefully, at Glenaray Ward, Mid Argyll Hospital, Lochgilphead, on April 24, 2018, with her family by her side, Jean Ross, in her 86th year, of Vaila, Kilduskland Road, Ardrishaig and formerly of Stonefield, Tarbert, loving wife of the late Leonard Ross and much loved mother of Kenneth and James. Also a dearly loved sister and mother-in-law. A private service was held at Cardross Crematorium, on Tuesday, May 1, 2018.

BENNETT – The family of the late Richard Bennett (Mucker Roy) would like to thank the countless people for the support, cards and flowers received following the sudden death of Roy. Special thanks to James Stevenson and Mark Wasson (paramedics), to Dr Lazarus and nursing staff at Campbeltown Hospital, to Rhys and Kenneth Blair for doing everything they could to support the family and giving Roy the send-off he received. Thanks also to the Argyll Hotel for the tea, to Mr Willie Crossan for such a warm service, to Archie Mathieson and drivers for the use of the taxis, and to Campbeltown police officers for stopping the traffic, with heartfelt thanks to the officers for blue-lighting Roy up Longrow. The retiral collection raised £1,381.50 for the Fishermen’s Mission and Children’s Cancer Trust (Brain Tumour).
CARMICHAEL – Donald, Bruce and Morven would like to thank all relatives, friends and neighbours for their many kind expressions of sympathy, phone calls, visits, cards and flowers received following the very sad loss of Christina. Grateful thanks to all staff at the Macmillan Ward, Oban and Lochgilphead hospitals, and also to Collette Morgan, for their care and kindness to Christina. Our thanks are also extended to Rev Cliff Acklam and John L Morrison OBE for a personal and comforting service, and to Roddy, Fiona, Cammy and Neil of Donald MacDonald Funeral Directors for a caring and efficient service. Finally, our thanks to all who attended the church and graveside and who joined the family back at Tayvallich Village Hall to pay their respects and celebrate Christina’s life, especially those who travelled a distance. The retiral collection raised over £1,800, which will be split between Marie Curie, Macmillan Nurses, and Oban and Lochgilphead hospitals.
MACLEOD – The family of the late Renee Macleod would like to thank everyone for their kind messages of sympathy and support following their recent sad loss. Special thanks to staff at Campbeltown Hospital, community nurses, Carr Gomm carers and Vicky and Isobel. Thanks also to Rev William Crossan for his comforting service, to David Gardiner for organ music, to T A Blair Funeral Directors for their professional services, and to the Ardshiel Hotel for catering. Finally, sincere thanks to all who paid their respects at church and graveside.

MITCHELL – In loving memory of a loving husband, father and grandfather, Robert, died May 3, 2012. Also our beautiful granddaughter, daughter, sister and niece, Amelia Hope, April 8 – May 5, 2010; and a loving son, brother and uncle, Robert, tragically killed June 1, 1987, aged 16.
