A pair of young bowlers collected a top trophy when, along with their skip, they won Argyll Bowling Club’s indoor triples competition.

Prizes were presented at a recent prize giving in the Millknowe Road clubhouse.

Maia Mauchline and Daniel McEachran with their skip, Gavin McLachlan won the club triples.

A club spokesperson said: ‘All six of our juvenile members took part in the competition on March 25.

‘Daniel Semple, Paul Grumoli Jnr and skip Jane McCorkindale were the runners up.

‘It is great to see our youngest members having the confidence to play in the competitions and improving their skills and gamesmanship.

‘We hope they will enjoy their first season on the green after it opens on April 14.’

The full results were as follows: Two bowl pairs: Donnie McCrimmon and Gordon Graham, runners-up: Daniel McEachran and Davie Reid; club pairs: Rhys Blair and Gavin McLachlan, runners-up: Willie Durance and Gordon Graham; four bowl, three sets: Andrew P Ronald, runner-up: Davie Reid; vice president’s shield: Davie Reid, runner up: Gavin McLachlan; president’s cup: Gavin McLachlan, runner-up: Davie Reid; senior championship: Jane McCorkindale, runner-up: Peter Clark; ladies championship:  Jane McCorkindale, runner-up: Linda Brannigan; gents championship: Andrew P Ronald, runner-up: Bill Brannigan.
