GGFL Bobby Thomson cup 3rd round
Carradale AFC 1
Busby 5

Even at 5-1 down Carradale kept the pressure on Busby in their Bobby Thomson cup  tie.

The McFadyens Transport sponsored Carradale were down to the bare bones with many players away. It did not appear to hamper them at first as a long throw not cleared by the visitors found Zaa who slotted the ball home from eight yards.

‘Dale kept up the pressure and had calls for penalties due to handballs ignored and Busby equalised after 17 minutes.

A poor challenge from Jamie Morris gave the visitors the first of their many penalties which they converted to go 2-1 up. Carradale were unlucky not to score from two corners towards the end of the half.

In the second half Busby put another three goals past Carradale but missed two penalties, one through a brilliant McMillan save and the other hit the crossbar.

Joey Boyd was man of the match and the matchball was sponsored by Bill and May at the Glen restaurant. Special mention should be made of Boyd and Sally Sneddon, of Roll and Butter, for their post match hospitality.

Tomorrow Carradale are away to Lochaber in the league.
