Kintyre residents are being encouraged to join the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service’s Community Asset Register.

The register is a database of community volunteers willing to protect and support their communities during emergencies, like the recent heavy snow which affected large parts of Scotland.

Volunteers’ assets could include 4×4 vehicles, boats, generators, diggers, or specialised skills including rope or water rescue qualifications.

Individuals or groups with these skills or equipment are asked to email sfrs.communityassetregister@firescotland.gov.uk to register or find out more.
