A Kintyre group which raises money to support Kintyre cancer sufferers is seeking volunteers.

The usual contingent of helpers poured teas and coffees in Campbeltown’s Red Cross Hall last Saturday as baking, a raffle and a tombola stall raised funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

A spokesperson for the Kintyre fundraising group told the Courier that it is always looking for volunteers and those who do not wish to join the committee can help out at events like coffee mornings just by bringing themselves.

The spokesperson added: ‘The total raised on Saturday was £559 which we are extremely grateful for, particularly considering the harsh weather conditions.

‘Huge thanks to all who came and supported us.’

Jean Kirk and Wilma Stevenson manned the tombola stall.
