A radio can be an important part of any kitchen and the Campbeltown branch of a nationwide design firm is doing its bit to keep Argyll FM on the airwaves.

Last Friday Howdens’ boss Archie Martin handed a cheque for £300 to Argyll FM programme director and presenter Kenny Johnson.

Mr Johnson said that funds are secured for the licence renewal but are still needed to update the, not for profit, broadcaster’s base transmitters.

At its February meeting Campbeltown Community Council agreed to grant the radio station £1,000 from its Tangy windfarm fund.
