What is Twiggy’s real name? In which field sport do the winners move backwards? What word is the technology term ‘app’ short for?

Such was the variety of questions from quiz-master, Helen Steel, at Largieside SWI’s annual quiz in Tayinloan Village Hall last week.

There was a large turnout, despite bad weather, with eight four-member teams competing for the 2018 accolade.

Cheers of delight at correct answers and groans of frustration at incorrect ones showed the seriousness of the contenders at the fun-filled event.

The winners were the Fork Handles: David and Wendy Spy from Tayinloan, Adrienne Bradley from Rhunahaorine, and Pat Rawson from Muasdale.

But it seemed that ‘everyone’s a winner’ at Largieside SWI, as all were treated to sandwiches, home-baked cakes and pastries afterwards, and the raffle rewarded almost every team in the hall.
