Iain McKerral from Meadowburn Place has sent the Courier a photo belonging to his uncle, Peter (Pat) McMillan, of 70 Smith Drive.

It was taken at a football event held in Campbeltown in July 1947. It was a youth club coaching weekend sponsored by Kemsley Newspapers, of which the Daily Record, Sunday Mail and Glasgow Evening News belonged.

The event was coordinated by retired player Jimmy Smith of Rangers, who is not pictured.

Pictured are from the back left: Bobby Hogg (Celtic), George Young (Rangers), Maurice Candlin (Partick Thistle) and in goal, James ‘Jerry’ Dawson (Rangers/Scotland).

The boys from left are: ? McEachran, unknown, unknown, Dougie Lang, John Paterson, Charlie McFadyen, Willie Mitchell, Donald McCallum, Peter(Pat)McMillan, Malcolm Watson, David Robertson.
