Kintyre Wheelers Cycling Club is gearing up for its first event since reforming in 2017.
The club’s committee has announced that a ride, which is open to cyclists of all abilities, aged 18+, and suitable for road, commuter and mountain bikes, will be held at MACC Business Park, at 10am on Sunday January 21.
Registration will take place at the business park’s main car park at 9.45am, followed by a safety briefing at 10am. Bicycles and kit will be checked at 10.05am before riding out on the circuit at 10.15am.
At 10.25am the circuit session begins, focusing on cycling as a group, signals and control words, under the management of Dom Sharkey.
The ride will finish at 11.45am, when cyclists will ride back to the car park, with a debriefing at 11.50am, looking forward to the next session.
Details for joining the club will be given out at this stage, but there is no obligation to do so, and those who simply wish to try the session are welcome.
Riders must wear a helmet, and should supply their own serviceable bicycle and water bottle.
If there is bad weather on the day, the event will be held inside, with a preparation and maintenance session replacing the planned riding session on a 3.4 mile circuit.
Riders of all levels of experience are welcome and will be split into groups dictated by ability and experience.
