Every year the Campbeltown branch of a nationwide joinery firm chisels out funds for Kintyre clubs.

At a recent presentation, Howdens’ manager Archie Martin handed out a total of £600, £200 each to the Campbeltown Lawn Tennis Club, the 16th Argyll 1st Campbeltown Scout Group and Kintyre Rugby Club.

The tennis club’s Jane Gallagher said: ‘This will add to the funds for the new pavilion.’

The rugby club’s Gareth Parker said: ‘This generous donation will be spent on kit, training equipment and cones.’

Scout leader Alistair Kenny added that the donation would be spent on equipment.
